Nico1359 replied Dec 7, 2017That’s a very idealistic way to look at it. The highly liquid nature, to me, speaks to the fact that the competition is immense, and by the way, the high end of the competition has information advantages and execution advantages that the rest of us ...
Rags to Riches in 10 or 20 Trades - Simplicity at its finest
-
Nico1359 replied Dec 7, 2017I don’t know that those real organic trading skills even apply to the Forex market. Getting lucky over a relative small amount of high-risk trades is a far more likely path to riches than a retail trader beating the Forex market consistently by ...
Rags to Riches in 10 or 20 Trades - Simplicity at its finest
-
Nico1359 replied Dec 5, 2017Well, I was fortunate enough to have a 3 pip trade take off and turn into a 30 pip trade. Last few trading days have been a little wild. Hoping to get back on a steady path from here on out

The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Dec 4, 2017I am aware the potential account-wiping trade is not an actual black swan. A defining factor of a black swan is that it is unexpected, which a loser in this case wouldn’t be too terribly unexpected. I just thought it made a cool title for the most ...
The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Dec 4, 2017I probably should’ve made it clear at the beginning that this is not my primary method of trading. I had hoped that my designation of this as an “experiment” would make that clear. As such, the hard and fast rules that would apply to your primary ...
The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Dec 1, 2017Ya know... When I started this, I said to myself, “A big plus to this is limited exposure in the market - after all, you’re just going for a couple pips 2 to 3 times a day. The chances of getting caught up in a big unforeseen news event will be ...
The Black Swan Experiment

Nico1359 replied Dec 1, 2017I'm just not a fan of trading on ultra low timeframes, even when scalping. Plus I already back tested my approach on 15M and was happy with it.
The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Nov 30, 2017I'm targeting 2-3 pips... If I go 1:1 r/r there's no way I'll have anywhere near as high a hit rate and with big lot sizes I'd get wiped out in no time.
The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Nov 30, 2017Honestly, I'm not quite sure what I want to achieve here either. A big part of this is trying to determine whether my entry strategy is legitimately high winrate or not. It's hard to backtest because even though it does have clearly defined rules, ...
The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Nov 29, 2017I trade on 15M candles but also use 1H and 4H for additional confirmation. The thing is - I haven't quite worked out whether there's something to my approach or I'm just gambling and on a heater

The Black Swan Experiment
-
Nico1359 replied Sep 27, 2017This isn't exactly true. A successful professional poker player will transition to trading far better than your average person. This is not because the two endeavors have any intrinsic similarities, but rather because the psychological factors that ...
Higher Edge within a Single Candlestick

Nico1359 replied Sep 8, 2017Yeah, I know. That was on Aug 29th and they sent out a mass email to all their clients saying that there was bad quotes from a liquidity provider and they were refunding traders who were affected.
Do Brokers Ever Give Refunds For This?
-
Nico1359 replied Sep 8, 2017Yeah, I usually avoid it too but I goofed up and forgot about this one. I entered the trade about 15 mins beforehand not realizing it was coming. Rookie mistake.
Do Brokers Ever Give Refunds For This?

Nico1359 replied Sep 6, 2017Thanks. I withdrew $200 from them about a month ago and it was a breeze. Customer service has always responded to me. So far I haven't had anything to complain about with them.
Do Brokers Ever Give Refunds For This?
-
Nico1359 replied Sep 6, 2017Yes, I sent them an email earlier today... just wanted to get some FF members thoughts as well. I will update this when I get a response.
Do Brokers Ever Give Refunds For This?
-
Nico1359 replied Sep 6, 2017Perhaps, but that was over less than 300 trades, which in my opinion is a pretty small sample for someone who day trades. I dont think much can be made of these results, as variance is still a real part of the overall picture. And today certainly ...
Can we really beat trading costs?
-
Nico1359 replied Sep 6, 2017The other explanation is because I am trading on an ECN. If you're not trading on an ECN platform then, no, you wouldn't have a gap because a non-ECN essentially has virtual liquidity. An ECN is directly dependent on their network of liquidity ...
Do Brokers Ever Give Refunds For This?

Nico1359 replied Sep 6, 2017I did send them an email complaining about my stop loss not getting filled, but I highly doubt it will matter. Slippage is common during events like these. I just happened to be on the wrong end of an extreme case of it.
