EA is performing pretty well except for one flaw which can be seen illustrated on the two charts below. When the indicator line changes colour permanently the bot works fine but when the colour changes and then changes back within one candle the EA ...

KH, yes I agree that the short should have been closed on the next candle, in fact it carried on throughout the day until I closed it manually late this afternoon when it was over 70 pips down. Of course that is why we demo test first and if this ...

OK Steve, I tested this strategy by sitting looking at the chart, because I do not understand coding I had assumed thay whatever piece of information was used to draw the indi line on the chart could also be used to initiate a trade, this is ...

Steve, I think that in this particular case the full indi (including the bit about drawing the line ) may be important to the stategy, the colour of the indi line needs to be what controls the trading, this would have prevented the earlier EURGBP ...

I was just wondering if there was anything "extra" in the indicator to prevent it repainting, if not then then the above chart would seem to suggest that it does in fact repaint.

Not sure what happened here, should not have traded as there was no change of colour. Steve does the EA take it's cue from the standard CCI indicator or the coded "SuperTrend" indicator?

Steve that's great, thank you very much! Please remember guys this is just an idea at the moment, usual warnings about live trading apply but at least we'll now be able to test it properly. The only thing I don't like is the name, I would have ...

Possible cure, during testing last week I had to set ECN to true even though I'm using Alpari UK which is not ECN, worth a try.

Steve, for me at least at this early stage Pinhead's bot shows more promise than the Vegas one, does the version in post one now take into account the position of the 50MA?

Pinhead, has the version of your robot downloadable from post #94 been fixed to take account of the position of the 50MA?

Yes, it's trading in the direction that the price crosses ALF irrespective of whether ALF is above or below the 50MA, still, shows some promise.

I'm missing out on the GBPUSD short because of "Trade context busy", how long does Vegas try to place the trade? I seem to recall that someone suggested a script that ensured trades were placed, maybe a good idea to incorporate something like that ...
