20 out of 82 trades were profitable so that makes it a 24.4% win rate. Biggest losing streak was 16 trades. Biggest winning streak was 3 trades which happened two times. So it is far from perfect but appears profitable. Perhaps moving to breakeven ...

Since the backtesting was not discretionary and was just mechanical, I have had small stops. One was just 7.3 pips. I know that is very small for a daily strategy but some of those trades with small stops went on to hit the 200 pip take profit.

You are correct, I don't know if the retracement is done. I was just trying to find a way to get an entry that would have a smaller stop loss than what I have found in my backtest of this system based on Hugh's rules. I was thinking of using the EA ...

I'm putting the stop loss 1 pip + 2 pips of spread above the high of the signal candle for a short and 1 pip below the low of the signal candle for a long. I made sure no stop was set greater than 100 pips per your rules. The take profit was set at ...

Tweak Backtest Result — The tweak I am suggesting is to just buy at market after the close of a bearish candle (open greater than close) or sell at market at the close of a bullish candle (open less than close). For backtesting, I used 100 ema ...

I like this way of trading! — I am also doing well with this style of trading. I did some backtesting on E/U using the rules on the first post and averaged 60 pips/month over 17 months. I was trying to think of a way to get a lower risk entry, ...

8 EMA — Do you wait for the candle to close on the other side of the 8 ema before entering a trade, or is the 8 ema there just for trailing stop purposes? BTW, started using your system yesterday and I already like it. Thanks!

Yes, I had the problem of getting overconfident and bending (or breaking) my rules. I would do well at first, then increase my leverage because I wanted larger profits. I would also start to take every trade set up that I saw (or thought I saw) ...

Good work Jules! I have been trading the 4hr time frame, but lost 2 weeks of profit this past week. I guess this system is better suited to the 1 hr, however I was using the 4hr so that I didn't have to be tied to my computer all day. How often do ...

My average stop loss is probably 50-100 pips. Make sure you trade an appropriate number of lots so you don't risk too much of your account balance. I trade almost all of the pairs. I enter trades from 8:00am EST to 8:00pm EST. I use an EA to manage ...
