It is the "creative" part that scares the hell out of me... last time someone got creative in finance they invented SIVs ... something tells me one should stick with silver and gold while they're in their creative process.

I know what you're saying but when you're comparing USD with JPY I think it is not very important for the simple reason that Japan and USA are being affected by inflation on the same way but at the same time they are reacting to it in the same way ...

I did not find the chart for the shorter bonds so here I post the comparison between the 30 year note (red) and the 10 year note (blue). I think what you are seeing as "spread narrowing" is really the long term note heading down. Compare with the ...

It was you who said that. Still you are unable to explain how the Dow can be at 2 year low and that cross can be at all time highs. The JPY crosses are governed by the bond market not by equities. Your research only works on the past few years ...

I think you need to leave more room for doubt in your assumptions... how do you justify EUR/JPY hitting all time highs this week with the DOW at 2 years low? What was the spread in March when he hit the bottom (for now) in the JPY crosses? Why, with ...

Why do you relate the JPY crosses to the equity markets? Have you tried relating it to the bond market? I think the reason most people relate it to the equity market is that in recent years bonds and equities have been both moving in the same ...

Was asking because of the spike we just saw in Gold and Silver. Broker said it was linked to Russia purchasing gold and building up its reserves. It might prove interesting if this translates into a global trend

I wouldn't say we don't have a problem with sub-prime around here. Granted you don't see full streets of houses for sale but we did overstretch ourselves, specifically in some countries. I live in Portugal (one of the smallest and poorest of the ...

Think the most important thing to retain from the FED meeting is that two guys voted against the 75bps cut. When the minutes come out we should be aware of why they voted this way, if because they wanted more or if it was because they think it has ...
