I guess I'm not at the stage where GFT has started messing me over, but I've had a pretty good experience with them. I've been consistantly making money, yet I get near instant fills, no slippage ever, and pretty decent platform reliability. The ...

I think setting the applied price to "PRICE_CLOSE" and setting shift to 1 should do the trick. I'm also half retarted when it comes to MT4 though so you might also want to wait for someone else to reply.

Do you have to register to download the pdfs or am I just retarted? I click on the threads, but only come up with a short description, not the actual files.

I disagree. At least that's not the case for me anyways. Price bars are good at telling you if the market's going up or down, pretty much nothing else. You see a bunch of lines going upward or downward. Candlesticks on the otherhand tell you not ...

Just think of losses as false alarms on the way to that huge trade you're going to crush. That's the way that I've thought anyways from the beginning and I've never taken a loss hard at all.

Candlesticks are probably the most powerful "indicator" I've ever used. Read a few books like "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques", "Beyond Candlesticks", or "Profitable Candlestick Trading". About half way through any of the books, but ...

I'm well aware of this as I have read the disclaimer at the start of the thread as well as every single trade signal after that. I was merely curious as to the results of this "experiment" and was trying to find out from the dozens of others who ...

Does anyone have the performance stats for these signals other than the first report at the beginning of the thread? Preferably including the trades that were stopped out by just a few pips? Anyone that traded them with a demo account should be able ...

I don't think it's as much of a size issue as the fact that interbank orders are all $100,000. Doing mini-lots requires the broker to "split" a standard sized lot into mini-lots and find buyers for the minis. This could possibly add some transaction ...

There is no one "right" price for a given pair. It's all about consensus between all the banks/traders based on what price produces an equilibrium between buyers and sellers. The prices should be very close between all the banks out there however. ...

It's not quite what you're looking for, but the ZigZag indicator can really help you count the waves. The only problem is it only draws the lines after the wave has occured, so it's not quite as useful. Still worth looking into though.

You might want to look at the Hull Moving Average. In head to head testing, it may not be quite as good as the JMA, but it's free. The only thing the JMA has a clear advantage over the HMA, is that there is speculation that the JMA "resets" itself ...

At least with my software program, you can't look at any of the disgarded NNs. Basically the program says, "this is the one that is the best according to what parameter you want maximized" and throws everything else away. There is something kind of ...

That's exactly the problem. You can't really effectively do it (at least I haven't been able to). The NNs that I end up with catch that random spike, and thus look great from a profit perspective, but when you go back and actually look at the trades ...

OK, I think I figured out the 2 long, 2 short trade thing somewhat. You can tinker with the settings and basically force the maximum trade span (the time the position is held) to X number of bars. You could set it to 6 hours (one fourth of 24 ...

The first part of your system is really easy to implement. What would happen is that you would feed one an input akin to this: Sub(Close, 28EMA) Which is basically the difference between the close and the ema. You can then also feed it a linear ...

I think you hit the nail square on the head (pardon the pun). If you're looking for NNs as a means to have the best autotrading system you can, keeping in mind that it will not be as profitable as if you were there, you're right on target. For what ...

I also thought that NNs would be cool when integrated with auto-trading like in Tradestation. However, from all my experience with using NNs, here are my two MAIN complaints: 1) It doesn't seem like NNs intelligently learn "non-linear" patterns in ...
