robots4me replied Nov 7, 2018Sorry -- you didn't mention DAX. I assumed you meant other forex instruments. I guess the reason for my sarcastic remark is because you'll notice that about half the questions asked here could have been answered by the poster if they were willing to ...

robots4me replied Nov 7, 2018Where did the data for the 100 different market conditions come from? The only market conditions that matter are the current ones, right? Why would someone use 100 market conditions that differed from the current one? Also, how would one know which ...

robots4me replied Nov 7, 2018Yes -- a portfolio EA that includes many strategies but runs on a single chart. Very familiar with them -- see Forex Strategy Builder -- an excellent product ( url ). However, in the case of this EA, when you consider it takes MT4's strategy tester ...

robots4me replied Nov 7, 2018Yes -- settings that make a difference should be exposed as input parameters. Some are, some currently are not. But that is like one line of code and slowly, slowly it's getting there. As far as "self discovery of best param to use" -- wow, that ...

robots4me replied Nov 6, 2018@bzolmajd -- it was nice that you took the time to make additions -- but you re-wrote the entire EA in your own image. I was curious to look at the changes you made but when I diff'd your version against the previous it was impossible to see what ...

robots4me replied Nov 6, 2018It doesn't make any difference how it traded 3 years ago -- you trade in the present (unless you have a time machine). No EA trades the same over long stretches of time. An EA uses indicators that are simple algebraic formulas with one constant ...

robots4me replied Nov 4, 2018Me too -- though, perhaps I can shed some light. Most brokers's servers are set up for GMT+0 or GMT+2. From Googling I can see that Tickmill (@Pawel's broker) uses GMT+2. The chances are your broker also uses GMT+2 -- so, there is nothing you need ...

robots4me replied Nov 4, 2018This is an interesting EA and it back-tests well -- however, a couple of points to be aware of: 1. The strategy only opens orders. The way that orders eventually get closed is via SL or TP. And this is fine -- however, it means that orders can and ...

robots4me replied Nov 3, 2018"..fool you into thinking that I've made my EA 10x better" -- what are you talking about? The lot size does not affect the statistics -- or, at least shouldn't. However, many brokers do limit the maximum lot you can trade when opening a new ...

robots4me replied Nov 3, 2018@Penguin -- please learn to read. I was responding to @CKobi's comment that the second version didn't work as well as the first. I diff'd the first and second versions and found that the hard-coded '10' was the problem. The fact that my code ...

robots4me replied Nov 3, 2018@Pawel.Gawron -- the more I experiment with your EA the more intrigued I become. I've uploaded a modified version of the EA here: file A list of the changes I made: 1. Modified the format a bit to make it easier for me to understand the code -- ...

robots4me replied Nov 3, 2018I know -- I've been developing EAs for a few years. If you read my post, the problem isn't with using 'input' but, rather, using a lot size of '10'. That is HUGE -- and some brokers won't permit a lot size that big -- hence, the EA doesn't trade.

robots4me replied Nov 3, 2018Very nice -- thank you, Pawel.Gawron. Most of the EAs I download and test rarely perform as well as the author claims -- this one does. Given its simplicity -- really quite interesting... I noticed the same thing. After poking around I found it was ...

robots4me replied Oct 24, 2018I understand -- thanks for responding. As for "no long term TMS traders" -- I'm not so sure. It's really impossible to tell. Many people read posts, take what they need and move on. Also, since this is a public forum and no one owns TMS, then it is ...
