No that move definitely was not anticipated, but the signs of a top were there... I can see this wave 2 being a deep retracement so I'll sit tight and wait for something bullish to develop before buying or trying too hard to count this correction ...

I agree with us moving to a b-wave high. I think it's premature to call it b of an x-wave triangle but if you're confident in it with employing methods as well then that's okay I guess. Here's what I'm seeing shorter term.

Thanks for your input. My counting of AUD/USD and USD/CAD leads me to believe that the USD with respect to these pairs will put in a swing bottom by March-April.

I don't really see your reasoning for these bullish thrusts, maybe because I don't know much about other forms of counting (neely?). Why not wait until that triangle pattern breaks before assuming too bullish a scenario? How are you labeling that ...
