With so many speculators holding Euro long positions you're right you would expect them to unwind their positions which is another reason to be short EUR/USD.

He is saying they will go up in February. That's the current thinking of the ECB.

Trader1580 that isn't the distinction between commercials and non-commercials. Commercials have a commercial reason for wanting to own a financial instrument e.g. they are exporters wanting to hedge their risk. Non-commercials hold the financial ...

You have to pay attention to Trichet's words over the past year. Whenever he uses the phrase "continue to monitor very closesly all price developments" it means interest rates rise in 2 months time. "Vigilance" of course means interest rates will ...

I agree that the EURO rally is dead but I disagree with what you said about Trichet. He said the ECB would monitor "very closely" all price developments which is his way of announcing rates will probably go up in February. On the fundamental side ...

Of course go into any casino and you'll find idiots who think they're one of a select few to have "discovered" the martingale system and eventually lose all their money but while martingdale isn't itself a good strategy scaling into a position can ...

The problem is, 99% of traders are aware of the "the trend is your friend" slogan but 95% still fail. It takes more to be a successful trader than one silly little slogan. People were trying to "get in on the trend" when cable was at 1.98 when that ...

I'm sure you're right that the big boys were in there but there was no conspiracy or anything. The technicals and fundamentals both favoured the dollar but there's always the "idiot rally" (aka exhaustion spike) at the end of a big move.

Nothing to do with big boys power it's the end of a massive up move. So many fools wanted to jump way too late into the dollar bear move but the sensible players can see the move has gone too far and will reverse.
