EF5 replied Oct 15, 2019As I said I few times, I think we're going back to 1,450 before we have make the next move higher in this bull market. One fundamental reason for higher gold could be the US-China trade deal falling apart which is easy to envision. Less trade > Less ...

EF5 replied Oct 15, 2019I use their iOS app. lol I do all my analysis with different platforms so all I use IB for is to enter in orders and the app suffices for that. I know it must sound strange to hear I've entered 100% of my orders through their app, but it has worked ...

EF5 replied Oct 15, 2019Just when I say it is quiet we have a possible storm coming to the western Gulf: image I saw a model taking it into Louisiana at a little over 1,000mbs so we're talking about a weak storm at best. It probably won't be strong enough to impact ...

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019I've never known anyone to be contacted by the SEC. I think they look for things like a big options position put on right before favorable earnings.

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019It works differently for non-forex brokers in the US. The last margin call I got was in 2009 and it was a literal call from my broker saying I needed to deposit more money within 3 business days or they'd close my positions. I sure hope that doesn't ...

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019I can't immediately think of an advantage in forming a US company for the purposes of trading. Foreign nationals can open US brokerage accounts already so there's no need to form a company for US access. The only thing I'm unsure of is how margin ...

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019I'd be pretty careful about your tax liability if you incorporate in the US. You could be in a situation where your US LLC is taxed in the US and you still owe taxes in Slovenia. I don't think it would play out that way, but it's something you'd ...

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019Nice post Pipoholic1! I agree with 1-4, but 5-6 are debatable. I agree with you on your main point of #6 on not using indicators, but I'm skeptical about the part on price action. I'm not disputing whether price action trading does or doesn't have ...

EF5 replied Oct 14, 2019I've not considered CFDs, but I think you're onto something. Market's with lower liquidity should be less efficient and therefore would offer the most opportunity. The risk obviously is that you could get stuck in your investment and you'll probably ...

EF5 replied Oct 11, 2019I don't think the Turkey-Syria conflict should impact oil. Syria only produces 30k barrels per day. As for gold, I'd watch what the US does closely. If the US decides to intervene militarily we'll see gold spike higher.

EF5 replied Oct 11, 2019I can certainly understand any apprehension about being short oil after the recent Saudi attack. Believe it or not though, the options skew for oil is typically lower meaning there's a greater chance of a sudden drop rather than a sudden spike. ...

EF5 replied Oct 11, 2019They’ve been good for me, but a big reason I like them is they pay decent interest on cash balances. Most brokers pay something like 0.05% but they were paying around 2.0%. (It’s probably lower after the rate cuts.) Paying higher interest isn’t ...

EF5 replied Oct 10, 2019Thank you, I checked a few brokers yesterday but wasn't able to find one offering corporate accounts. Something tells me US citizens probably can't set up an offshore account and to trade CFDs, but you've got me curious now. I'll have to contact one ...

EF5 replied Oct 10, 2019Looking back, I think the single most difficult thing about trading was there’s no generally accepted path to success. Further, there’s a lot of people who will unintentionally steer you in the wrong direction.

EF5 replied Oct 10, 2019I’ve always been very wary of these options selling CTAs. The odds are in your favor selling options so it’s not too hard to build a track record, but there is a big risk of eventually blowing up like this guy did. I’m not sure how many investors ...
