I wasn't trying to prove anything, I was citing material from a book that has researched patterns and their failure rate. In my quote it states that head and shoulders have a 5% failure rate, which is very low.

There is a completely technical way to set stops and take profits when dealing with these patterns, if there wasn't, they would cease to exist. If you don't know how to interpret them correctly then I would suggest reading the above mentioned book.

Start trading real money when you have a consistantly profitable trading strategy that has proven it's results in back testing and live testing.

This is a huge advantage and does give retail traders an edge to those that always have to display a bid/ask. Although, I'm not sure how much it really cancels out the many disadvantages that we have.
