Not on a consistant basis, no. Best traders I know achieve a PF of 2 on average...and those are really a few. But hey! Aim for 3 and if you get 2 you can still be happy

Well I agree with you to some point. I'm doing this for almost 10 years now, and I've done everything from scalping futures to trading options...trading future-spreads, and long-term position trading...etc etc. I've had times where I traded actively ...

I keep a journal, looks a bit like yours on my overview of trades page. But then I got a much more detailed one for each single trade (3 pages for each trade), with comments, charts (both daily-charts and intraday-charts) etc. I also have a notebook ...

Talking about sleep etc... — Those of you who think about getting less sleep to trade more or do things that might mess up your girlfriend/boyfriend (or both or more than one...I don't know...) let me give you an advice. Don't do it. You got ...

Hi Josh. Bit of a different topic but here's my take on this. If you're uncomfortable trading $100/pip ask yourself why. Maybe you're risking too much of your total account, maybe you're just not comfortable with the amount of money. I'd suggest to ...

Well I don't know for sure Matt, but you should at least think about letting them run if they would all have hit your target. Sure, a breakeven-trade is no loser, but if it would have been a winner, you kinda lost, too. I know this goes against what ...

Hi Matt, just being curious, what would have happened to those BE-trades if you would have left your initial stop where it was? Take care, Marco

About those bad words, I always have a hard time figuring out what might insult people or when exactly "bad language" starts for them. It's a topic that surprises me quite often...there are completly different worlds when it comes to that stuff for ...

Hmm yes I've seen it. But even without the 0.3% they want for the "insurance", their commissions are incredibly high compared to trading stocks with a discount-broker. And I didn't even look at what they charge for overnight-positions... At the end ...

Well what I found out for myself is this. You need an exact exit-plan before getting filled and find yourself in a trade. And that exit-plan should be the same for all trades, otherwise no chance to get consistent results.

Relaxed Trading — Hi there, I just wanted to tell you about some recent developments in my trading-life which some of you might interest. In the past my trading looked a lot like this: I took trades of daily charts, set me an alert that I get ...

Trading stocks/Fear of gaps — Hi CW, I'd love to trade stocks but there's one thing that bothers me a lot, and that are those evil overnight-gaps you sometimes get in stocks. I mean if you buy a stock at $50 with a stop-loss at $48 and you ...
