Leighsww/Northpro, When you say you are leaving a scout in are you leaving 'the' scout (ie. your initial entry) or just 'a' scout or 1 lot after taking profits from all but the last lot entered?? thanks.

Yes, thank you Leighsww for the attack example and thanks Northpro for your analysis too, very enlightening! I have been observing the various patterns as they form and it's quite good to see them set up from say a pennant into a flag into a ...

Ok, 3 lots would have taken your basis up too close to PA if a bigger pullback did occur??

Price was still below previous high and may pull back further? <added>Also to keep control of the price average if it does.

Perhaps we can discuss this a bit ourselves? I haven't read it yet but Paper Money sounds like it would give a good insight into how who and what effects the 'dollar' and how it relates to different currencies. For Fti it would be almost second ...

I pretty much had the rescue thing down before but as Fti had observed, my skew was a little soft so my rescues were taking far too long. Now I have been using a more aggressive skew I'm tending to mount the rescue as soon as price stops (too early) ...

Hi mijamoto, welcome aboard! I think you're right, chess is an excellent analogy for what Fti is trying to teach us (I think
). Thanks for the post.Technical Analysis Fallacy

This statement to me sums up what fti is trying to teach us(?), don't have dependencies on any analysis, use them, but act/react to the current situation, don't 'hope' what you think you see is going to happen. Be quick on your feet and act on all ...

Nice measured response Mike, I understand what you are asking, I may not be able to help, but your question isn't a waste of time, I'm sure others face the same problems (eventually). For myself, I'd be looking at the down months and see where the ...
Question For who trades for a living
- MickD replied Feb 3, 2008
When I saw .5 lot (assuming a std lot) I thought it was a bit big too. The way I've been using the demo account was to divide it by 100 (even 1000 for 100k) so I had 100 troops. With 2500 this would give me a scout of $25. Yes the amounts are small ...

I think you could use this method for longer term trading BUT, you have to start short term and see how the trade pans out. Once you're in front start climbing to bigger time frames and use the same sequences for staking in. The best part is that if ...

I understand. To be honest I don't follow the news, I seen the spike, waited for it to stop and waited for the opportunity on the correction, nothing more. I took profits on the return leg when it stalled, then it continued down so I got back on and ...
