Based on my research, Oanda is a market maker i.e. they take the other side of the trade. Oanda is not an ECN. They rip off their clients by jacking up their spreads for any excuse they can find (even if the news is not for the pair you're trading) ...

Hello traders! I have one question. Gov. Wheeler has said that the sweet spot for NZD/USD is around 0.68. The Reserve Bank of NZ sold NZD when it's value was around 0.8. Yet, Gov. Wheeler and the RBNZ keep the interest rate high. They are shorting ...

Thank you for your advice! Yes, I will try to constantly learn. I've learnt that I need a ECN forex broker that does not have a dealing desk and that charges commissions rather than widening the bid-ask spread. I see that you're an Elliottician ...

To simplify, if broker A (Oanda) has a range of 150+ pips in the 5 second max min chart and broker B & broker C (mentioned previously) have a range of 40 pips in the same 5 second interval .. what does that imply? Answer that for yourself!

Tim_isoara -> First, stop insulting and stop assuming! I don't trade news. I trade trends but my stop loss orders get hit with the unjustifiable spread increases that occur at Oanda even when there is no news in any currency in that pair. Second, do ...

I've realized why only *retail* traders trade on Oanda. 'Nuff said.

If I'm wrong - prove it! Oanda does not make a Bid-Ask chart available. And I can't press Ctrl+Alt+PrintScreen the very nano-second they jump their spreads up to show you their spread. The *5 second* min-max chart is the closest proxy possible to a ...

Spiboy123 -> the charts are *5 second interval* min-max price bars. That is the *shortest* interval that Oanda makes available on their charting package. This is their *ask* and *bid* price within *5 seconds* i.e. 1/12 th of a minute. As you can see ...

DeskPro, I think we've just caught Oanda *LYING* on their website. According to their website, their maximum spread on GBP/NZD has been approx 45 pips that occurred in late Dec 2014 (I've attached a snapshot from their website below). image Well, ...

Spiboy123 - you are right that it occurred a few years ago. But you're incorrect in stating that they reverted the trades. I know because my stop was hit to literally *the* pip .. and Oanda did *not* reverse the trade even after I called their ...

My stops have been hit by Oanda several times due to widening of their spreads. Here's what I've experienced: 1. The spread on GBP/USD going from 3 pips to 300+ pips around GBP news. 2. Spreads widening 5-6 times during daily session rollover (e.g. ...

I've learnt to not put any limit or stop orders. Just trade at market .. because even GBPUSD spread spikes to 300+ pips at Oanda for 1-2 seconds .. hitting your limit entry and stop orders simultaneously.

Carney's BOE meeting was at 5:30 am. The spread in GBP/NZD at Oanda didn't jump signigicantly then. Then at 8:30 am when US retail sales get announced, the spread in GBP/NZD at Oanda shoots to 150+ pips for 1 second?? What gives?
