I am using Java for their US based API. Are you using the API in Europe? I have heard that it is a little different there in that you can access historical data, is that true? I would like to gather historical data like I used to do at Oanda, but it ...

Are you currently trading with Hotspotfx? And what do you mean by besides the banks? Am I able to get better prices going directly to a bank? If so, how do I do that? Do you have to have a very high volume to do so?

I don't understand exactly why the U.S. would want their brokers to deny people in Iraq from opening an account? I thought America was trying to help the Iraq people get back on their feet and prosper? So why deny them from being able to open a ...

1. I've never done much with boxes. 2. You can go long and short at the same time if you want, but you have to open a sub account to make the other trade in. Personally I've never understood why anyone would want to go both ways with the same ...

With Dukascopy it is very easy. I set up an EA to run in MT4 with only a couple modifications and clicking to allow DLLs for the EA when you attach it to a chart. I can give you the example of what I did as well as the info I obtained from them if ...

Oanda's trades are completely automated, so there's no one there approving or disapproving the trade, or any requotes. Their pending orders can stay until filled if I remember correctly. Only on rare cases have they told me that an order was filled ...

As was just mentioned above, Oanda allows you to use a few different languages, but I was using Java for mine. They told me I had to choose just one language to get the library in so I chose Java. Now I have the library from Hotspot in Java, but I ...

It's been a while now, but the error messages said something about a problem with the socket, not staying connected, something about a handle. Like I said before, I am not expert at programming, but I started a long discussion with others who were ...

Interesting. I guess maybe it's because I have spent more time working with and trading with EAs, but to me it is so much easier to use EAs for live trading. When I was using the API at Oanda I had problems keeping it running. I talked to the API ...

I'm a little curious... What do you do with an API that you don't do with an EA? As far as my experience with both of them, they are the same thing: They allow you to code a program that gathers information, make calculations, and execute ...

I'm pretty sure that is only if you go through another broker that has MT4 and allows you to use their platform to connect to MT4. I believe I read that somewhere on one of the other threads here when I did a search for "Hotspot" and saw an e-mail ...

MT4 has Expert Advisors that you can auto trade with. Most of my auto trading has actually been done with the MT4 platform over at MIG. So while they don't refer to it as an API, it does serve the same purpose of monitoring the market and doing ...
