Thanks Intu. I understand when I see a high bid/ask size (e.g 50 lots), which is the majority of the time, that's a bank. However, observing the low volume relative to the EUR futures, I'm inferring that the banks don't actively* trade with us - ...

+1 Less liquidity = longer time to get filled =
Btw, is MBT's ECN a true ECN or is it STP? If it were an ECN, wouldn't banks trade with us also? But usually EUR/USD's volume is 120k on a 1min chart vs ~500 contracts/min average for EUR futures ...MB Trading Futures - Introduction

If I read correctly, if you have Metatrader (or open a new MT account under this plan), trading is commission free. They don't pay you, you don't pay them. However, the "commission" is built into the spread, so it will be wider. If you don't have a ...

EUR/USD's average spread is definitely not 0.5. According to my data, during Lon or NY it's around 0.7, which is also what FX Intelligence posts.

As I mentioned, my broker is MB. However, are the complaints with Alpari US Direct or with Alpari US Direct Pro? Alpari Pro is supposedly an ECN.

I'm an American, so keep that in mind. You should look into: MB Trading (my broker): Pay for limits can really lower your costs. They're introducing a new commission rate this week though. Alpari US Pro: Air-tight spreads.

Are they going to wait until Sept 30? Then they should've said "coming Sept 30." This better be epic.

Negative spreads last for fractions of a second. I'm not sure how/why you're comparing this to MB's "pay for limits" promotion. I've trialed/used 6 platforms. While they have room for minor improvement, I like their Desktop Pro platform. MBT. I said ...

I generally see the bid/ask size around 50-200 mini lots in market depth, but when I enter with a limit order, I can see my order. It's distinct because it's much smaller than 50 mini lots. Sometimes I see a size of 0, my guess other retail micro ...

Interesting. I recall MB's pay for limits still applied to their MT4 clients though. Not sure why they pay clients to put "limit orders" if it didn't increase liquidity. I don't use MT4 so I'm not sure what do you mean. Do you mean the bid/ask ...

You're asking for a fixed exchange, which would be nice. Not exactly sure why fx is OTC, but I'm sure there's a reason. I'm not sure about "1 platform only." Let's not get communist now

It must have been closed. If you don't get a message saying you are "x place in line," then it's closed. But I agree, they should fix that. Otherwise, the chat line can last ~5-15 minutes. I just browse the internet in the meantime.

It's actually very common. They really need to fix this as it disturbs the daily chart. They need to fix their tick charts too. Spikes everywhere. Minute charts are not a good substitute.
