squallpips replied Aug 27, 2015Asia is closing up and China makes a surprise jump into positive gains of close to +3% with authorities probably stepping in to buy up everything they can before closing bell. So I reckon sentiment will be quite upbeat today. Yesterday's news from ...

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015That goes fast. If the US downtrend persists the 10000 mark could be difficult to defend. There was just a bounce back from about 9995 but it doesn't look very good. EDIT: WTI did fall, to about $38.70. I guess the bearish outlook remains (even if ...

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015I think investors are very wary after that nasty last hour surprise in the US. All depends on the direction of US, if Dow Jones rallies to 16100 Dax should be safe but that's a very big if. Currently the 16000 break offers strength to Dax.

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015Is this the US opening dip, or are we already fizzling out? Looking at a possible bounce around 10050.

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015I agree, talk about ECB stimulus has given the EU indices a pat on the back, EURUSD is also trading down. Of course, the ECB has quite a knack of giving hints while actually not having do to do anything at all like the "buying before the summer" ...

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015The indices seem to be stuck at psychological levels, Dax at 10000, FTSE at 6000, CAC40 at 4500 and AEX at 430. I reckon there's not a lot of appetite to go either way though a big drop doesn't seem to be on the table and hope for a green open in NY ...

squallpips replied Aug 26, 2015The Dax futures are edging up during the Asian session which is surprisingly muted. Dax recovers from 9800 to 10000, on its way for a neutral opening instead of a big drop. We'll need to see if the Chinese indices hold after their munch break. Oil ...

squallpips replied Aug 25, 2015@atraderfx I think your prediction is plausibe, that we're going through a short bounce before China fizzles into recession dragging the rest of the markets with them. I also think the PBoC didn't want to do the RRR cut and interest rate cut ...

squallpips replied Aug 25, 2015I guess the Ifo wasn't taken last week. The rally is more about sentiment after the US and Asia sessions that signaled some sort of relief and disassociation from China. There's also more confidence the rate hike is off for a few months. 10000 will ...

squallpips replied Aug 25, 2015Does anyone know during which period the Ifo business climate was taken? I guess the ones that would have been surveyed yesterday would have been several magnitudes gloomier than the ones that responded in the rather sunny days of early August.

squallpips replied Aug 24, 2015It's an impressive recovery from its lows. We haven't seen such huge swings in a long time. The DJIA bounce was even stronger, though still have to see if it turns slightly greenish. Who would've expected that,,, Even the White House is giving a ...

squallpips replied Aug 24, 2015I do hope you're right (and you seem to for the moment, quite a strong 400 point recovery). We'll have to ride out the week to see if the dust starts to settle. The Dax will piggyback on the US for now, the situation didn't really change compared to ...

squallpips replied Aug 24, 2015We'll have to be careful at this bounce around US open. It happened last Friday as well, coupled with the PMI number. I think having SL closely guarded is the way to go for the next few moments. 9500 could be a temporary floor, but downside risks ...

squallpips replied Aug 24, 2015The pre-market swings of the DAX are quit unusual, going from 9750 to 9900 and then back down to 9750. I reckon it will be quite a volatile day. I think the Chinese government wanted to avoid the RRR cut that didn't help last time, but the markets ...

squallpips replied Aug 21, 2015Other European indices are also just a few sessions from erasing all gains YTD, been quite a downturn in 2 weeks, more so than the Greek crisis. When the dust settles I do expect a bounce back, for the moment European fundamentals are still ...

squallpips replied Aug 21, 2015The DAX gets hammered after that very brief PMI rally. We'll have to see if China has a few surprise announcements to make during the weekend. But given their dysmal record of measures that added to fears instead of calming markets, I'm a bit ...

squallpips replied Aug 21, 2015DJIA is indeed rallying and the DAX is dragging its feet. Perhaps there will be some bigger price action after the Europe closing time. Should watch for that 10330 resistance level that's been hit a few times earlier this afternoon.

squallpips replied Aug 21, 2015It seems the DAX is waiting for the US PMI for a definitive direction, currently stuck in the (10270)--10290-10310--(10330) range. But stylinex is right, could be some traders will cash in on their positions for the weekend after a hellish week. A ...

squallpips replied Aug 21, 2015Been following this thread for a while now... I reckoned last week the DAX would bounce around the 11.000 mark but it's getting a brutal beating. Now I'm not so sure that we've seen the ultimate lows, though it's staged a remarkable morning recovery ...
