Yes you can set opposing pending orders on Oanda without issue, that is not hedging. I do that all the time here when straddling the news . You cannot have opposing open positions (long and short) on the same pair in the same account ... that is ...

Dont know if the Spanish news will spike any really bro, but the GBP construction pmi news at 4:30 could be good for about 10-12 pips with a straddle i would think.
