I don't know of any. I have never came across a mechanical system that works on every instrument without some type of optimization. Optimization is not necessarily a bad thing, BTW. Also, you have to be careful with those StepMAs. You must realize ...
How to Build a Trading System around these Lines

Optimization is only ideal for an already profitable system. If you have a system that is profitable over a large sample of data, it might be ideal to optimize it so that it performs even better in the future. However, you can't take a losing system ...

I'm also having problems with optimization. I'm not sure what parameters the creator optimizes for and in what fashion. As far as this EA losing all of it's money during certain periods, I believe it has more to do with the money management rather ...

asmocon, Thanks for posting this. A question regarding backtesting. I'm assuming you backtested longer than a couple of months with this system. Have you tried optimizing this system for a couple of random months (July and August of last year for ...

I'm not sure that's true. On daily/weekly charts, you're going to get much worse entries if your system enters at the close of a bar. Worse entries=bigger stops.

I must agree. Also, people don't post profitable trading systems on public forums. 99% of what you read on these forums is crap. The other 1% is just bits and pieces that may be used to come up with something profitable. The systems posted in the ...

By just eyeballing the chart, I believe one period of time where this system might have suffered large drawdowns was August of last year. Can someone optimize for April through July and use those results to backtest August? I would do it myself, but ...

I understand that it's optimized for the last few months. That isn't what I was referring to. Even if I start the backtest starting in January of this year, it shows one trade on January 11 to the 16th and that's it. If I started the backtest in ...

Backtesting this EA gives me problems for some reason. On a backtest going back to January of last year, it only shows one trade, the first one of the year. It only shows one trade no matter what period I start with.
