I'm not full time but I do trade GBPUSD every day aiming for an average of 20 pips a day (combination of S/R trading and moving averages on the 15min timeframe & longer term trades on the 1hr ...Ichimoku forever

Because in the LT trades you are going for more pips albeit at a reduced lot size?

I think you might be ok trading the longer timeframes but anything else your stops will most likely get wiped out by the NFP report due out Friday. NFP Fridays are no trade days for me. When the report was released, at least the last 2 times, price ...

EURJPY has a 15min crossover bu the 1hr Ks and future kumo is flat yet again
Is there ever a lower TF cross where the higher TF doesn't indicate retrace? Maybe I'm not cut out for this short TF trading thing - the 4hr, 1hr, daily Ts crosses seem ...Ichimoku forever

Why the entry at the 1st circle? The 2nd one I understand because it breaks the kumo.

Have you had a look at when the Ks exits the cloud instead of the price? Sometimes that means price is too far away so there are advantages and disadvantages. Ts above Ks, Ks exits cloud long. Ts below Ks, Ks exits cloud short. It gets you in near ...

Sorry the circle should be a few periods later where the actual Ts/Ks cross occurs. The CS was below the price curve at the time (it is 26 periods back), what you can see on the chart is today's CS span.

I was just backtesting that very thing before you posted, kumo breakouts with stop the other side of the kumo. Actually, specifically Ks breakouts of the kumo.

Here's a trade I placed yesterday that got stopped out but not sure where I went wrong. Here we see the 1hr cross on the 1hr chart so from here on I am looking for short opportunities on the lower timeframes - I should have got in at the cross but I ...

This is a situation that comes up often. The actual cross here on EURJPY is in the kumo here so we're not looking to sell short yet but it looks like it might be a while until it retests the Ts if at all. So, do we wait for a retest and then look ...

Lol, same here eveytime there is a 1hr cross, it seems the kumo future is flat indicating a retrace. I must be missing a vital piece of information to initiate a trade because my understanding is that if the kumo future is flat then we shouldn't ...

It's my own programmed indicator, not quite finished yet but it does fine for me for alerts and no need to scroll through the charts as it's live information. I need to work on it a bit more though. I didn't realise there was an Ichi signal when I ...

To have less drawdown on a 5min entry, you put your stop above the kumo on the 5min chart - but you are talking about holding it for the long term. For this to happen, any retraces in the long term will need to not hit your close stop loss. Does ...

In theory but the stop loss won't cover the retraces, which is why you need targets for the smaller TF trades.

Hi 4x - thanks for the post. I have one last question/clarification on the shorter trading method. I think we spoke the other day and you said you trail the trades by the 1hr Ks even if you entered on the 5min. Now, Bull's reports from last Friday ...

Yes of course but generally, the Ks is almost always going to be flat on at least 1 of the higher timeframes. If we wait for price to move then retest the Ts and a close under before entering, then the Ks is going to indicate a retrace somewhere ...

Question about USDCAD. The 1hr cross occurred many hours ago. We now have a retrace to the Ts on the 15min chart but the Ks is flat. Could we re-enter here? If not, when would we re-enter because the Ks may start moving down at some point. Edit: I'm ...
