It seems silly for me to try to predict the GBP when even the large commercial banks and central banks clearly have no clue. Made some good pips yesterday from simply following the longer term downtrend(s) of the Pound, but now out of the GBP until ...

Half my trades hit sl and half hit TP. Fortunately I trade diversified portfolio with a 2.5:1 reward to risk ratio, so did ok. Reduced risk (a lot) now. No new trades in this session. Waiting for fat fingered Asian traders to get off work.

RedOak13, I don't trade with the Bollinger bands much anymore. I used it to trigger trades back in the day, but now I use the multi-timeframe trend to trigger trades. Both methods are basically entering on a breakout in the direction of the major ...

Hi jgadefelth, thanks for the good question. Of course, I'd like to make 5% a week, and many weeks I do, but we have to be realistic. If the best money managers in the world make a consistent 30 to 35% a year, it's highly unlikely that I will be ...

Hey AG. Great to hear from you. Glad to hear you are doing well. I've been doing ok, but I seem to tire out more quickly these days. I can still do what I used to do, I just can't do it as long as I used to. LOL, Take care and keep in touch. -G

Hi Kz. I'm currently just trading a week at a time, so I enter trades as they develop early in the week and exit Thursday or Friday, Thursday if I'm unusually ahead for the week and Friday if not. That's because my time is very limited now so I can ...

Sounds good SK. I'll check this thread from time to time as I can. I'd advise that you continue with demo trading and back-testing until you are consistently profitable there. Then, when you move to real cash trading, trade the absolute minimum, ...

Hi SK, nice to hear from you. Generally, I'd want all the timeframes to be moving in the same direction by some discrete criteria. I'd think just using the current candle may work for higher timeframes, like weekly and daily, but the current candle ...

Yes, I agree about being happy with smaller risks and profits. 1% a week or about 4 to 5% a month, as stated in the opening post, would put you among the worlds most profitable traders. Unless you are some sort of savant, you need to realize how ...
Is Forex trading worth it? If so, why?
- Graviton replied Apr 17, 2016
I've been successful for quite some time now. I trade with very low leverage and very low risk per trade. Consequently, no single trade will make me rich, or bust my account. I select trades that are in agreement with central bank policies and I use ...

Tax policies in the US are insane. The fact is, the more people earn, the less they pay in taxes as a percentage of earnings. Yes, the rates for the top earners are higher, but the available deductions are much higher. A simple flat tax would fix ...

Sure IBO. This is rather difficult to talk about since a rising Yen means falling Yen pairs, and visa versa, but I'll try. I had been short most JPY pairs, trading a strengthening JPY until today. Today the Yen showed some weakness and tight stops ...
