robots4me replied May 18, 2019Regarding Zone #2 -- I now see that as a small window where the MM is not playing its manipulation game. It's within this small window that I want to open a trade. Once the price returns to what the MM considers "fair value" then that window closes ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@Weyk -- thanks for your post. image I'm missing something. I don't understand the significance of the MM nibbling away at a liquidity gap. Is that supposed to be a signal to open a trade? If it is suppose to serve as a clue for direction, I don't ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@handy148 -- I eventually was able to download the indicator. But when I attached it to a chart it didn't detect any "Double Top Bottoms". The author is well known and a prolific coder, so I don't doubt the legitimacy. Thanks for pointing it out -- ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@rosalieone -- okay -- I think I can see what you mean. And I have a couple of comments / questions: 1. Liquidity gaps are not well known and are difficult to spot (without an indicator). I have a hard time imagining the MM using them as a false S/R ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@LongBTC -- we're partly thinking along the same lines and also partly diverging -- which fine. The important point is to keep thinking and analyzing. Where we overlap is we are both looking at Zone #2 and the immediate aftermath of the spike / ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@Pumi -- this is all good stuff. And asking "why" is a great question -- just keep in mind we're all in the same boat. I like the comments / feedback / questions that come from different perspectives because then, slowly, slowly we might assemble ...

robots4me replied May 18, 2019@Pumi -- aren't those price gaps (as opposed to liquidity gaps)? Price gaps don't need to be filled. There was no spike (perturbation) caused by the MM -- hence, no cleanup was necessary. Hence no Zone #2.

robots4me replied May 18, 2019I'm on a roll, so I thought I would expand more on this idea of Zone #1 and Zone #2. image The image above is an example of what I'm referring to as Zone #1 and Zone #2. This is a cherry-picked, hindsight view from GBPUSD earlier this month. I'm ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@LongBTC -- yes, I've noticed that, as well. I'm not (yet) sure how best to incorporate liquidity gaps as part of a trading strategy, but they definitely are interesting markers. For now I'm treating them as the beginning marker of Zone #2, where: ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@ficibald -- I don't think it is right to ask others to interpret a chart for you. We are all in the same boat. Come up to speed on what the thread is about and then take a stab at commenting on your own chart.

robots4me replied May 17, 2019Another thing occurred to me. The target levels computed by the MMDetective (or smFractalLevels) indicators that I removed from the chart I posted above (post #1648) might actually prove useful as Exit points. I don't know -- just a thought...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@TopCover -- toward the very left of the chart there is clearly a bullish spike -- that's the Zone #2 I'm referring to, where the MM has shown it's hand. It's not clear to me point A on the chart represents the MM showing its hand. The lower lows ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@mixedbags -- looks interesting -- thank you. I will check it out further. Since his indicator is a dashboard and not graphical, then it's a bit difficult to see how it would have traded in hindsight. I will add it to one of my life accounts and ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@LongBTC -- I can't help but chuckle -- you're a good detective. It's a simple "place holder" indicator I wrote that creates a blank subwindow. @cja's dashboard has a setting that allows you to attach his dashboard to either the main chart of one of ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@Robot Trader -- I should have been more clear -- it was a hindsight setup. Perhaps not the best example. I was just looking for an example with a bullish spike and liquidity gap that got filled. The combination of MM showing it's hand (i.e. ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019image Here's an example of how this rookie experiments. Same chart as above, but I've also attached the standard stochastic indicator. Since this is a bullish spike that poked above a TMA band and re-entered from above -- then I'm only thinking ...

robots4me replied May 17, 2019@Robot Trader -- at the time the spike occurred and the price began to re-enter the TMA, the liquidity gap hadn't yet been filled. But, over time, you can see that it does get filled -- precisely. The Zone #2 I'm referring is the immediate aftermath ...
