I have a small open short position at 1.9780. But i am not sure i will keep it open. many of the experts say that the downtrend has not started yet.

Pretty much yes.. however, if cable breaks 1.9750, then that opens the door for cable to go down as far as 1.9400.. of course, IMHO.
