Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008When EachTickMode is false, the EA only places trades at the open of the bar following the signal. That was--to the EA--a valid trade. But I see your point. I'll look into preventing these sort of trades tomorrow.

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008If EachTickMode was set to true: not likely, the bar probably changed color after the trade was executed. If EachTickMode was set to false: then the only thing that may cause that was chart switching.

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008It sounds like you're trying to prevent "stale" signals. It makes sense. How do you suggest we prevent that?

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008Here's an exercise for you to try: Flip a coin, Heads is long, Tails is short. Now determine whether or not the trade is a winner or loser and manage accordingly. Cut the loss Let the win run.Once you're consistently profiting from this method, THEN ...

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008Interesting thing I notice in the backtests... The profits from this system almost happen in 'spikes' of sorts, compared with the losses. A pyramiding system may be useful here, along with either a trailing stop, or some other way to lock in profits.

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008I can't really say the same thing about the standard metatrader order-entry screen, but I do have a workaround. I went to www.ultimarc.com and built myself a trading keyboard similar to this: url Each button on my keyboard is mapped to a ...

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008Ok, here is an EA for this system. I personally like the simplicity of it, and the considerable profitability. 60% win percentage I know isn't too much (*cough*) but if we apply the law of large numbers and use this across several pairs, we may get ...

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008I always set the default lot size in any free EA I post to 0. Why? It prevents newbies from blindly attaching my EAs to their live accounts and blaming me for any subsequent losses. Both EAs work.

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008When I read that book, I was about 12 years old. It's comparatively kid-friendly relative to the other books, and I would recommend it only for the greenest greenhorns. Once you master the techniques and concepts in that book however, the other more ...

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008Remember that all indicators' values are based on the price. As the current bar's price is constantly changing, so is the value of the indicator for that bar. What you see in visual backtesting is the final value of the indicator at the close of a ...

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008I say keep the EA running. We'll see if this was luck because of a news breakout, and check again if the EA will repeat this success. If it's consistently pulling 1k+ from the same lot size, we may just want to optimize for those pairs.

Ronald Raygun replied Jul 24, 2008I like what I see, and would offer this one modification for consideration: For a BUY: The price must have a low below the lower 55 LWMA and close above the upper 55 LWMA. For a SELL: The price must have a high above the upper 55 LWMA and close ...
