PA can go many pips up before divergence play out, and trends can last very long, longer then you think without any retracement. Take a look that trend from 2010. month 9 till 2010. month 11. - upmove around 1500 pips and no retracement.

Yea, that's kind of subjective, depends how you perceive things. Some tend to connect them with candle closes and not spikes. Some tend to adjust them when line is spiked, and some leave them with an old spike. Who can say what's right.

Daily candle closes are different at every broker depends on their time zone so that is not reilable too much.
