There is no logic in this. The possibility of two opposing outcomes does not make both equally probable. If it did, every airplane that took off would have a 50% probability of crashing rather than landing. However, maybe your trades have only a 50% ...
Never Go Against the Trend?
- tomorton replied Jan 15, 2018
The probability of a winning or losing trade is not 50/50 merely because there are 2 possible outcomes. Trends in the financial markets do not form and persist because of a human weakness in calculating probability of consecutive outcomes from ...

Hi and welcome to trading. I am a long-term forex trader so news events don't make much immediate impact on my trades - most bad news comes out during downtrends, most good news during uptrends, its rare to get some unexpected or planned news that ...

I don't use trailing stop-losses as such, I don't like the idea of being taken out of a position simply based on how many pips have come off price's furthest point of travel, when the TA might still be extremely profitable. But I do advance my stops ...

If you're trading something with low liquidity, even if markets are open and you can access via your broker or spread-betting firm, spreads can be a major cost (and risk) when volumes are low. These are "invisible" as they don't show on a price ...

Never even looked at it. Like when I'm buying a car or insurance or using a bank, the share price would be the last thing on a long list of must-haves and I'll have made a decision way before that point.

I only enter trades via orders and about 1 in 10 comes out with a very slightly different stop-loss to what I thought, so maybe they adjusted the entry up or down a bit, I guess that would account for the difference. But as I trade long-term, it ...
