I dont' think FX correlations are stable (otherwise you could run start arb strategy) and depend on the period of observations and length of the sample. So it is basically gives only rough notion how currency pairs depend on each other.

Yeah that's why I try to make long-term trades based on fundamental analysis because despite noise price is eventually driven by evolution of its long-term factors which you can identify and take advantage of.

Yeah a good rule of thumb is to invest what you can afford to lose, if you don't feel emotional pressure from potential loss you won't commit common mistakes like taking profit too early or trying to sit out the loss.
