well us going for rate hike that means gold wont have a fixed income but dollar does, so why would big players buy gold rather than dolar?

isnt that weird, dolar index is nearly 2008 highs, dolar gaining against all major currencies, but gold prices going up aswell... as i know strong dollar makes gold prices lower but it does not do it now,
