Hi Pipmutt. Being NFA doesn't make one ECN or even STP. There are still plenty of Market Makers in the NFA. I think you are also confused about ECN and STP models. STP is still mostly a market maker. This type of broker usually routes smaller orders ...

Actually, ECN trades are executed based on available liquidity at your price, not on a price feed. If an ECN broker turns around and tell you that a trade is reversed or requoted based on an erroneous quote, then they are lying out of their asses ...

Damn. Don't scalp on a Market Maker. Their dealing desk will have fits. Go ECN all the way :/ BTW, if you do scalp on a broker that claims they are an ECN but they delete the profits, report them here. That would mean they are not an ECN but a ...

I've been using 5 digit ECN for a while now and now I know why they offer it now. You can place deals between the normal spread and have fractional rather than whole number spreads. Like eur/usd could be either 1.0 or 1.5 spread on a 5 digit broker, ...

True for brokers that claim ECN status but are really just market makers with ECN pricing only, not the actual order fills. I know they probably wouldn't be able to offer full disclosure because of NDAs, but it would just be reassuring if a broker ...

Yeah, I did ask whether they were just price feeds or actual liquidity providers and they all confirmed that the info they gave was liquidity providers. I'm sure they all have others but didn't mention them due to said NDA's.

Liquidity providers do not allow for less than 1.00 standard lots (100,000) in any trade. Unless of course, volume less than that is just matched in house?

- oakmonster replied Jun 24, 2009
Well, less than 1.00 standard lots would have to go through a dealing desk where fills are more or less guaranteed (depending on the execution). When you trade volume that can actually go through to the market directly, you soon discover the evils ...
