vlady makes an interesting point. I tend to trade the M15 chart and use 200 ema as a filter. But I also look at the trend on H1 and D1. In fact I have the 200 ema daily time frame showing on my M15 chart.

There's been a bit of a mismatch lately between DAX and S&P but I suppose that can be given that DAX is a heavily weighted index.
