Took some off this morning at 98.65. no real follow through. I really don't want to hold this thru the weekend being short, but we'll see what it brings. If it falls thru 99 again, i'll probably add to my short. currently Holding about 50% of my ...

breakeven = level where i would sell at a zero gain/loss .
- fortiron replied May 8, 2013
stop loss at breakeven + 5pips. 99.085 Normally i'd lock in some more gains, but i feel like letting this one ride.

I put on a huge short at 99.3 to 98.95 range. TP currently set at 97.15

Avg. Trade Length: 3h 0m My solutions are 'creative' lol. Rollover is an issue, and i haven't quite figured out a way to deal with it. Aussie rolls are the worst :-/ I thought about sticking with just the EUR/CHF basket cause the rolls are much more ...

It does take a little longer to close out trades, but not significantly. I find with the bigger pairs, which are weighted more heavily, the moves can be quicker, which helps. I've been ''forward testing for only a few months. The 12 pip take profit ...

It's very difficult to test... I usually re calibrate the MA periods once a month. The way i tested it was somewhat ...interesting. Tested 3 main criteria... 1) Moving average periods 2) PIP Goal 3) Lot Sizing(variable or dynamic) The moving average ...

Correct -- its intentional. Based on testing, even though it may temporarily go against me, the frequency that it hits the 12 pip goal is much higher.

For the xample of this thread, it's on a demo. I currently have it running on a real account as well, but its mixed with discretionary trading so it is much tougher to isolate and share.

Right now It's kind of an odd weighted strategy... So if lot size set to 100... Eur/USD @ 1.29 = 129 lots USDCHF @ .92 = 92 lots EUR/CHF @ 1.2 = 120 lots Makes very little sense, but with equal lot sizing returns were much less

Thanks for the advice. I'm avoiding all JPY pairs at the moment. Currently only doing the two baskets.. Here's a shot of my Euro Trading..

Confirmed - yes I'm currently using a 27 per and 20 per MA for this. This was chosen by doing various optimizations to the EA. I am currently testing it on a 5 min time frame. I've had good results on the 15 min as well, but it doesn't generate ...

Unfortuatenly, i dont have a dynamic way to do this. At the beginning of the week, i input certain correlations manually into the code. Very crude to be honest.
- fortiron replied May 11, 2012
Gotcha. Thanks for noticing that -- I'll look into the coding and see why it did that.
- fortiron replied May 11, 2012
Sorry, i should have made it more clear -- its not a correlation of prices/expected prices -- it's a correllation of expected movements in currencies based. Lot sizing is a whole nother story

I'm sure i'll run into a situation where i get clobbered on an open position... so far though, about 60 trades with no bad results. WOrst thing that happened was it double triggered an order once, and i ended up with twice the position i was ...

I'm actually running it on FXCM TSII, so EA-like, but not technically. I'm thinking about releasing it, however, not just yet. Want to play with it more myself Max DD so far while running(even with a few faulty executions, was <1%)

Thanks! Here's a more detailed breakdown of how it works... on each of the 3 symbols, i have 2 moving averages... one fast and one slow(er). One all sets of MVA point in the same direction, it enters into a trade sequence.. either Buy/sell/buy or ...
