Hi Graeme, I have recently found your thread and this has made me think very hard about how I have been trading. I have been trading intraday and a little while ago I summarised in a note to myself my top 4 reasons for achieving trading results ...

Thanks Chris, Just as a pointer, I have my Cable weekly chart below. Have I marked the S/R levels in broadly the right areas or have I over complicated it with too many levels? All the best Matt

Great thread here. I am on page 115. Only 578 to go! This thread (& J16) has made me completely rethink how I trade and has convinced me that the short timeframes are just too much pressure and hard work for me. Hope to make a contribution here ...

I appreciate your input Mike and Gold, and agree - with a whole load of hindsight - that buying off PA around the weekly PPZ around 10300 would have been stronger. I guess that what I was seeing was a BUOB off a 4hr PPZ around 10400. Still much for ...

USD CAD — Hi guys, I set a trade 10 pips or so above the high of the BEOB on the 4 hour chart. Order opened by a pip or so and then came back to stop me out. What can I learn from this? Welcome all input. Sorry I meant BUOB ! Thanks Matt

Hi Z, Interesting to see you using the 30M chart for Dibs. Have you used this time frame regularly with good results? Best, Matt

My account's fine Z - I think that is what you may be refering to - I am just keen to get on with trading. I must admit that sitting and waiting does not come naturally to me, but I am having to learn this. Generally I am very picky with my trades ...

Yes, current market conditions testing my patience though

Not showing as a Dibs on my 4 hour. Different closing times I guess. I am using the longer timeframes to confirm direction but have only been taking Dibs on 1 hour. This has been working well for me if I check that the trade has clear space to run ...

I agree Z. Dibs also on USD CHF at 08:00 GMT but very tight range. Will pass on that one also. Ended yesterday down overall, but my fault for not being picky enough. Aim to do better today. Matt

Hi, Just to add to Nicola's post, that long trade was heading into the 14000 resistance area. For my set-up a 1:1 trade would have add to reach 13997 which is too tight for me, so I passed on that trade. The short at the same time on the USD CHF had ...

Thanks Razor - yes, onto the next one. One trade is no big deal but just trying to keep the learning going each time. Great result on your part I will follow your journal more closely. Matt

USD JPY — Stopped out on the USD JPY 12:00 GMT DIBS short. Unfortunately I didn't take the DIBS at the same time for EUR USD and USD CHF as I thought that the location was not the best. 3 poor decisions with hindsight. Any thoughts on why I ...

That makes a lot of sense Z and is in line with my own view. Appreciate your thoughts as always All my pairs very sideways today. I am going to call it a day shortly and have another go tomorrow. Best, Matt

Cable — I have a DIBS on cable 4 hour ending 12:00 GMT. I haven't tried this approach on a 4 hour DIBS before. It is below the week open so I guess that we are seeking shorts, but can anyone relate their experiences of trading DIBS 4 hour ...

Hi Z, How long would you consider a DIBS valid for? Taking one example, we had a DIBS at 08:00 GMT this morning on USD CHF. Currently the market is sideways and the DIBS high has not been broken although the low has. It's now 4 hours later and I am ...

I have only been considering DIBS that form after the 6:00 GMT open as my understanding is that earlier DIBS could be the result of low volume during the overnight session. I saw that a couple of people did use earlier bars on Monday (04:00 GMT if I ...

E/J — My data feed showed the 06:00 GMT bar lower by 1 pip so I did not consider this one. Had a DIBS at the same time on the U/J but did not like the location so passed on that one. Matt

EUR GBP — Just to elaborate a little on my E/G trade. I took the DIBS as the open was through the 8600 area and I used the bullish outside bar on the 4 hour as confirmation of the trade at the time. I was very conservative with this trade and ...
