Good to see you back in action Malcom

Good analysis. I like to call those high volume wide up bars "effort to rise". Then wait to see if supply overcomes them.. that way I don't close out prematurely for the wrong reason.

XAU 5 min: took a long at 1320. Old support, so the market bounced off it with hints of demand in down bars. Looking for a 50 pip run. Update: potential for a 2nd opportunity entry.. More potential demand.. watching for confirmation. Update.. closed ...

Dogol... it is good to see you post... With reference to your chart... if you want feed back... it is useful to state or show the FX pair by name & TF.... just my opinion...

EU 4H: Supply potential in the current cluster testing the supply in the immediate background.. Lets see if it confirms shortly. EU 1H: hints very strongly at supply.. still early to see how this bar forms.

EU 5 MIN:: looking to see if "effort to rise" is supported.. Risk 12 pips just below the low of the current cluster. Update: don't like that volume on that up bar.. too much.. suspicious... Exit long.. now looking to see if a short set up appears... ...

"Islander".. nice set of swing trades in your last chart. Good trading man!

I love the short side of the market. As a consequence I used to hate test bars as they tend to fail in a weak market. Instead I should have been ready to jump on them & short like crazy. I used other methods to find my entries. During the last break ...

That perennial old chestnut. Data feed. I am trading 2 accounts simultaneously & seeing very noticeable differences in Volume & OHLC bar structures. My trading style revolves around one very reliable feed, (or I just got used to it over the years). ...

Fred, you are on the right track. There is a trader called Bill Williams, ( no relation) who has written a book called Trading Chaos, he says his pyramiding system has beaten every body else in pyramiding over the last 30 years. His first pyramid is ...

Hawkins, I so agree with not adding to a losing position. Thanks for your input. I do a technical pyramid in the right sequence, ie. add to a winning trade. My personal style is to cluster them in a fairly tight range. Then I watch to see that it ...

RIP Tom Williams. The giant, the Genius of Trading the markets. A lot of us would not be here (in this forum) were it not for the fact that VSA works so well. Tom is the true Man of the People, he wanted to level the playing field for all of us, so ...

VCV 13 Nice chart post. You understand the concept very clearly. Your 3rd chart is particularly good in explaining "effort to rise". In your 2nd chart, I agree with your "failed effort to rise"... I there after call it the "effort to fall" bar as ...

There is one thing I must explain about tests. When they work they are great. I would distinguish between "clean" tests & "messy" test results. When they are clean, there is a nice clear & consistent result. ie. the market goes long in a bar or 2, ...

Both Tom & Wyckoff talk about effort & result of effort. It took me ages to realize what they mean. I rely more on that rather than test bars. All my trades are done with triggers ie. sell stop or buy stop. Now on with this chart: A: should point to ...

Tests led me a merry dance in the beginning. At that point I didn't understand fully that one needs to understand the background & more importantly to spot supply / demand coming into the market first. In almost all cases I have spotted what I call ...

The truth be told, I use VSA/Wyckoff entries. I read Jeremy Du Plessis - P&F book (the P&F bible, for most traders). From Wyckoff to Du Plessis.. I use it for projections mainly. On the EU 5 min I used 3x3 with astounding results. The projections ...

Geez, I am so glad to come back to P&F. I used to get amazing results analyzing EU intraday. I tried it on gold intraday & just couldn't get it right. Caldera, thanks for the effort with software. Guys, not to take away from your great effort with ...
