Great thread. Does anyone use COT, a weekly report which shows open interest for futures contracts? http://www.dailymarkets.com/commitment-of-traders/ Stop-hunting is a regular occurrence. A lot of FX traders complain about stop-hunting, perhaps ...

Good thread. While there is no definitive method mentioned, this will serve well as a trading journal whereby you stay on track with your goal. Always trade with an edge, and may the trend be with you. Would also recommend these books: From the Pit ...

Ace, Thanks for sharing this profitable yet simple method. I too have never seen a system like this. Thanks also to all the countless members who have contributed in the backtest and suggestions. I've left a comment on your profile, surprised that ...

Short GBPJPY triggered at 155.37. Stoploss 153 pips, move Stop to BE when TP1 is hit.

Ace has updated in the first post on moving stop to BE after 1x. I'm wondering if anyone has backtested trading this daily. Based on my rudimentary eyeballing, the daily method would not be as profitable, the best moves tend to start on Mondays.

Read the first thread of this post, and the link to the original thread. This is a real life experience of a former CME trader. Absolutely inspiring.

Both Long and Short entries have been triggered this week, so following Ace's original rules, there should not be any more entries today. The Short went past TP1, so SL should have been moved to BE, before being stopped out. The Long hit SL ...

IMHO, this method is intended to be a weekly breakout, similar to the FSP method (First Strike Plus), which uses a fixed ratio of the previous week range for entry and stoploss, and price at 0600 GMT Monday. After 2 stopouts, the original Long and ...

May i ask - for when using 4H charts, do you use 0000 hrs GMT as the start of the day, or you use the London open of 0700 hrs GMT? Assuming you trade the GBP and Euro pairs.

Ace and a few members have backtested this, this method gave decent results risking 2% per trade, the most recent in 2008. This is not a quick-get-rich method, but it teaches that patience and decent methods can be profitable - the biggest obstacle ...

Fantastic thread and simple method. Just a query on the 4 Hrs method - do you set 0600 hrs GMT as the beginning of the day, or 0000 hrs GMT? Anyone caught the hourly DIBS entry on the GBPUSD and GBPJPY 2 hours back?

Interesting set and forget method, Steve. Have traded this the last 2 days, but with a slight variation - took partial profit at around +40 and moved SL to breakeven thereafter. Interesting too that the Cable doesn't seem to fit this method. Btw ...

Timezone wise it has to be Asia. Trade the 4H Box Breakout, the 0400-0700 GMT Breakout Strategy and the 7am-9am Big Dog USD Breakout Strategy. For futures traders, the Nikkei opening (0745 hrs GMT +8 onwards), and the US opening (2130 hrs GMT +8 or ...
