Hi C I am very sorry that you are having to leave. I will certainly miss your work on the forum, in particular your detailed posts on trend trading and the use of Excel to develop systems. They are outstanding, no question, and will remain a ...

Hi C I am also interested in using MS Excel for backtesting.

Spyderman Thanks for the update. I am sure these changes will improve the system and look forward to seeing how they work going forward. Also look forward to seeing how you will be changing from the H4 DC to the D DC trailing stop.

Thanks Spyderman Could you list the positions you have entered and exited for this UJ series, including the entry/exit prices and dates? It it's to much trouble that is OK.

Hi Spyderman I notice that UJ has just opened on your TE. It looks as if the entry was on a H4 DC cross. I thought that for the first position in a new series price needed to cross the W DC?

Atokys Would appreciate if you could explain in more detail: "The point im trying to make is that it is not risk free even though it seems to be. On the surface it looks that way but on the portfolio level you are undertaking more potential ...

Back in 2013 we were using the DDT approach and the trade transactions for that year are detailed in that big spreadsheet found in this post. It's safe to download so just unzip ....... Hi Copernicus Thanks for your explanation and clearing that up. ...

So now onto.......... SETTING PREDICTIVE ENTRY LINES Hi Copernicus I have been trying to work through your re-cap approach on the EURUSD during 2012 and 2013 using MN, W1, D1 and H4 time frames. Is it possible to identify the trade time frame of the ...

Hi Copernicus I came across your thread a couple of days ago and have just finished reading it. A very interesting approach to trend trading and a lot to absorb. I also would look forward to a recap and appreciate the enormous amount of work you are ...

Hi Vicentis At the moment you wouldn't be able to go long because the Super Trend is red. But if the Super Trend turned green and then price closed above it that would be a long entry set up.
- Koglkama replied May 28, 2013
Hi MeAgain As I understand the rules the candle that crossed and closed back above the Super Trend line is the signal to exit the trade. Ilzalama explains this in post 15. On this candle it also looks as if price has closed above the red SR line. If ...

Thanks Ilz What I was really trying to ask but didn't express it very well was: For an entry or re-entry where the price crosses and closes over the SR level do you allow a minimum clearance between the close price and the SR price level? The ...

Hi Ilz Also referring to Driven 18's post 266. I looked at a re-entry to GBP/JPY when price closed 2.1 pips (my chart) above the red SR line and decided not to enter. Ilz, I would appreciate if you could give some clarification on how to handle ...

Hi Driven18 I also got into that GBPUSD trade. What I am not sure about though is where the SL should be. In post 134 Isalama said "Stop Loss - If I open a trade and there is already a S&R line that is less than 100 pips away, that is my stop". On ...

Hi Ilz When you adjust your SL levels to BE + 3 then + 1 pip for every 10 pips of price movement, or SR + 3, do you add on the spread for short trades? My chart shows only bid prices, but I believe Oanda can show charts with either bid or ask prices.
- Koglkama replied May 12, 2013
Hi Ilz Was the reason for the manual close of the GBPUSD trade (Post 165) due to the price closing back over the 200SMA? On my chart the price has yet to close down over the 200SMA.
- Koglkama replied May 8, 2013
Hi Ilz Would it be possible to show a chart of some of the trades that you provide details for in your TRADE UPDATE posts? That is, as the trade progresses with candles marked where the Entry, SL, Exit actions are made. My MT4 charts are different ...

Hi Ilz In post 45 you said there must be at least a 30 pip space between the High/Low of the candle that closes over the Supertrend and the established SR. In post 123 you refer to the 30 pip space being measured from the Close of the candle and not ...
