Steep Rise in Mexican International Trade

In June 2026, Mexico’s foreign trade maintained a favourable performance, with exports totaling USD 72.551 billion and imports reaching USD 68.461 billion (chart 1), resulting in a trade surplus of USD 4.089 billion. Exports surged by 34.4% year over year, led by non-automotive manufacturing exports (48.8%) and oil exports (43.4%), while automotive exports expanded at a more moderate pace (7.6%). Meanwhile, agricultural exports declined by 2.8%. Imports also showed strong momentum, though to a lesser extent, increasing by 28.0% year over year.
