In July 2026, DG ECFIN’s flash estimate1 of the consumer confidence indicator2 continued its recovery in both the EU (up 1.9 percentage points (pps) from June, to -15.1) and the euro area (+1.7 pps, to -15.9).3 Despite three consecutive months of improvement, consumer confidence has not yet recovered the losses incurred since February and remains below its long-term average.
