German business activity falls for third month running, but cost pressures ease substantially

Germany's services firms recorded a third straight monthly decrease in business activity in June, with weak demand continuing to weigh on the sector, the latest PMIŽ survey results showed. The pace of contraction in activity did however slow slightly, with the same also applying to the rate of job losses. Notably, there was a sharp slowdown in the rate of input price inflation across the service economy at the end of the second quarter, which allowed for a weaker rate of increase in prices charged.
