In the first quarter of 2026 the seasonally and calendar adjusted, chained volume measure, of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 0.2 per cent with respect to the previous quarter and by 0.7 per cent over the same quarter of previous year. The first quarter of 2026 had one working day less than the previous quarter and the same number of working days compared to the first quarter of 2025. The quarter on quarter change of GDP was the result of an increase of value added in services and a decrease in agriculture, forestry and fishing and in industry.
