South Africa Consumer Price Index - March 2026
Annual consumer price inflation was 3,1% in March 2026, up from 3,0% in February 2026. The CPI increased by 0,6% month-on-month in March 2026. The main contributors to the 3,1% annual inflation rate were: • housing and utilities (5,1% and contributing 1,2 percentage points); • food and non-alcoholic beverages (3,6% and contributing 0,6 of a percentage point); and • insurance and financial services (4,6% and contributing 0,5 of a percentage point) – see Table C and Table E.
