Spot gold opened the week slightly lower, with XAU/USD trying to hold $4,600 early in the Asian session. Markets turned risk-off after US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he would destroy Iran if it does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Friday. Trump also said power plants and bridges would be targeted if Tehran does not comply after a ten-day truce. Iran announced reciprocal attacks on US “or related” infrastructure.
