The primary balance of the consolidated public sector was in deficit by R$16.4 billion in February, compared to a deficit of R$19.0 billion in the same month of 2025. The Central Government and state-owned enterprises recorded respective deficits of R$29.5 billion and R$568 million, while regional governments posted a surplus of R$13.7 billion. Over a twelve-month period, the consolidated public sector accumulated a deficit of R$52.8 billion—equivalent to 0.41% of GDP—which is 0.02 percentage points of GDP lower than the deficit accumulated through January.
