German import prices in January 2026: -2.3% on January 2025
Import prices were 2.3% lower in January 2026 than in January 2025. Compared with the same month a year earlier, the rate of change in December 2025 was also -2.3%, and -1.9% in November 2025. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that import prices in January 2026 rose by 1.1% on December 2025. This was the largest month-on-month increase recorded since January 2025 (also +1.1% on December 2024). Export prices were 0.2% higher in January 2026 than in January 2025.
