The Federal Reserve Dot Plot chart is seen as a helpful tool that investors can use to determine the likelihood of interest rate changes and other economic factors. It provides a transparent view of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) members’ perspective and goals for the coming years. The FOMC includes 19 participants who contribute to the dot plot: the seven Board of Governors and the twelve regional Federal Reserve Bank presidents.
