Construction spending in the United States recorded $2.18 trillion in October, up by 0.5% compared to the September figure of $2.16 trillion, the US Census Bureau revealed in a report on Wednesday. Reports for both months were released simultaneously after being delayed due to the government shutdown. On an annual basis, the October figure declined 1%. Spending on private construction reached $1.65 trillion, 0.6% above the previous month's reading.
