Bhutan Launches Sovereign-Backed Gold Token
Bhutan has officially launched TER, a sovereign-backed gold-backed digital token on the Solana blockchain, marking a landmark step in the Himalayan kingdom’s digital monetary strategy. The token is fully collateralized by physical gold reserves, digitally tokenized and issued through Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) with distribution and custody administered by DK Bank, Bhutan’s first licensed digital bank, as part of a broader effort to bridge traditional assets with modern financial infrastructure.
