The World Gold Council (WGC) says gold has experienced a remarkable year, achieving more than 50 all-time high prices and emerging as one of the strongest-performing assets in respect of returns. It explains that gold’s historic rally was driven by a supercharged geopolitical and geo-economic environment, as well as generalised dollar weakness and marginally lower rates.
