Construction spending in the United States recorded $2.17 trillion in August, up by 0.2% compared to the previous month's revised figure, the US Census Bureau revealed in a report on Monday. On an annual basis, the figure declined 1.6%. Spending on private construction reached $1.65 trillion, 0.3% above the revised July reading. Residential construction increased by 0.8% to $914.8 billion in July, while nonresidential construction dipped 0.3% to $737.3 billion.
