In September 2025, French consumer prices fall by 1.0% month-on-month and rise by 1.2% year-on-year

In September 2025, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell by 1.0% over one month, after +0.4% in August. This drop in prices is mainly explained by the sharp seasonal decline in services (-1.9% after +0.2%) and more particularly in "other services" (-1.9% after +0.8%), which include accommodation services, and transport (-13.5% after -4.1%). Food prices also fell (-0.2% after +0.3%), while they slowed for manufactured goods (+0.4% after +1.3%) and were stable again for tobacco.
