Passenger caught with gold sewn into jeans at airport

Thiruvananthapuram airport customs foiled an attempt to smuggle gold worth around Rs 40 lakh through the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The accused Senthilkumar Rajendran, a Tamil Nadu native, arrived from Kuala Lumpur early on Sunday. During a detailed baggage examination, customs officials discovered 360g of gold ingeniously concealed between the layers of two pairs of jeans. The passenger, who initially attempted to evade detection, later admitted that he was carrying the contraband on behalf of another individual.
