In September 2025, French consumer prices increase by 1.2% year-on-year

Over one year, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month, consumer prices would increase by 1.2% in September 2025, after +0.9% in August. This rise in inflation would be explained by a sharp acceleration in the prices of services, linked to a much less sustained decline in the prices of communication services and an acceleration in those of health services. Energy prices would decrease less than in the previous month, due to a base effect on petroleum products, the prices of which had fallen sharply over one month in September 2024 and would be almost stable in September 2025.
